Complexity is an issue for societies

"Enough rope to shoot yourself in the foot" as the book on C++ was titled. In many ways C++ is the computer software embodiement of unnecessary complexity: it does not perform better than C, it is more complex than higher-level languages and is complex enough that a sublanguage was discored within C++.
